Members of Top Grade 1 band, Scottish Power Pipe Band came to Cockenzie on Saturday 14 April to deliver a master class in Piping and Drumming to young pipers and drummers from East Lothian.
Pipe Major Chris Armstrong and Leading Drummer Barry Wilson arrived with some of their team to over 30 enthusiastic young players who had just attended ELPDT’s Easter School the previous 3 days.
After a day of intense instruction the pupils then treated a large crowd of friends and family to a short performance showing off their skills. Local Councillor Peter McKenzie gave thanks on behalf of the community and ELPDT to the Scottish Power Members.
Eilidh Alexander of Preston Lodge High School said “It was a great five days and we even learned some new techniques to improve our playing”
The following day a minibus full of pupils visited the Scottish Power Pipe Band practice in Glasgow to see the band in action and observe how a top Grade 1 band practices.
